Pre-assembled 7-segment modules

In SimVimX we use the most popular ready-made display modules based on MAX7219 or TM1637 drivers.

Typically the MAX7219 module has 8 digits (sometimes 6), and the TM1637 has 6 or 4 digits, allowing you to quickly implement any indicator you need for your panel. You just need to connect the display module as described here and configure it in the SimVimX 3 plugin - specify what data and how to display on it (data format, multi-function options and conditions).

If the sizes of the indicator digits are not suitable for making a display or you want to reduce digits number you have two options:
1) Desoldering the 7-segment indicators from the MAX7219 module and use other indicators. This needs some skills.
2) Using the modules with detachable indicators (described below).

MAX7219 modules with detachable LED indicators

You can buy some max7219 modules with detachable indicators on the market and use the 7-segment LED indicators of the size and color you want:

Another alternative is buying one of the cheap MAX7219 dot matrix modules with detachable LED matrix and use it for 7-segment indicators (this is example link, can be inactive eventually).

The module has row and column connectors that are very convenient to use with 7-segment modules. Remove the LED matrix module and use any suitable 7-segment indicators instead (up to 8-digits).

You can use either multi-digit LED indicators or separate (single-digit) indicators with common cathode (!).
